HA! You ain’t kidding! *giggles*

This card makes it quite clear that the mundane routines of life are getting in the way of personal happiness and spiritual evolution.  Looking at the same set of walls, day-in and day-out, going through the motions, doing what needs done is causing a burn out and an “auto-pilot” syndrome.  This card suggests breaking away from the monotony of life, letting-down the hair, kicking-up the heels, resting, relaxing, and rejuvinating.  Well, DUH! I think this morning’s coffee thoughts and all of last week’s rambles indicate quite clearly that I sure could use a vacation – and I don’t mean a one night jaunt to another town, either.  Nope.  I want at least a week, a week free of obligation and full of fun.  I want to stop and smell the roses, swim in the waters of life, breathe in the air of freedom, and run barefoot through the meadows.  I want to laugh and play, sleep in late, eat juicy fruits, take bubble baths, and enjoy what there is to enjoy.

Idenitfying the need here isn’t the problem…. fulfilling it is.  I have one day off tomorrow and guess what I’m doing with it… WORKING! Granted, it won’t be at a restaraunt – Stinkerbelle and I have another opportunity (thanks to T) to clean house for extra $$$.  I work again Thursday and have a day off Friday (hate split days off!), but Friday is the day of Stinkerbelle’s counselling appointment that was rescheduled from last week – and likely the only day I’ll have to do grocery shopping, laundry, and other household tasks that have been so badly neglected.

So Fairy friends of mine… I see you, I hear you, I acknowledge the wisdom and advice… and now I say PAVE THE WAY!  How, when, where is vacation possible?  I’m ready…. let’s go!

Here’s what the guidebook says:

Card Meaning: You need a break from routines and stressful situations. This card urges you to take time for yourself so that you can rest and renew.

Description: The fairies take regular vacations, traveling to distant fairy glens. They know and respect the value of a change of scenery. By drawing this card, you are strongly counseled to do the same for yourself. A vacation doesn’t need to take a lot of time or money. Instead, it means getting away from mundane concerns and demands. Even one night at a local hotel, leaving your cell phone at home, can be therapeutic.

Think of a vacation as an investment in yourself and future. All living beings need to rest in order to operate at maximum efficiency. After your vacation, your mood and energy levels will be renewed. You’ll have better access to creative ideas, and your positive demeanor will attract wonderful new people and opportunities into your life. Don’t procrastinate when it comes to taking a vacation — make definite plans today.

Affirmation: I give myself permission to regularly rest and relax, knowing that by being revitalized, I am happier and more productive.
