This is the same card I drew yesterday, which means she is really hot on my heels! *LOL* – only yesterday she was inverted, and today she’s upright.

Due to lack of time, I’m simply going to link to yesterday’s post with its original insights and the card image.

Visualization

Visualization

This is a familiar card, and I smile when I see her. She reminds us of the importance of daydreaming, fantasizing about what we want, allowing our mind to project images of the future we desire. If you can see something in the mind’s eye, you can manifest it and make it a reality.

It reminds me of a situation with Rhythm years ago, when he was around six or so.  Back then, he was taking gymnastics and was an absolute natural at almost everything he did.  He’s got a flexible, wiery frame and a tiggery bounce to him that gave him an edge in the sport. However, when it came time to learn how to do a round-off, he was stumped and kept falling.  No matter how many times he’d try to do the trick, he’d flub it up and end up falling down.  At one point, I called him over to me and had him close his eyes.  As his eyes were closed, I instructed him: “See yourself standing at the edge of the mat, preparing yourself to perform the round-off.  See yourself running down the mat.  See yourself set the cartwheel in motion, and see yourself flip that cartwheel in the air.  See yourself land on both feet, solid, and see yourself raise your arms in accomplishment.  Watch it in your mind.  Can you see it?”

I watched the boy’s eyelids flutter as he imagined what he looked like doing the trick successfully.  When he opened his eyes and smiled, I said, “Now go do it just like you saw it in your mind.”

Sure enough, he mastered the trick on his next attempt.

This is a classic example of how visualization can cause creation.

This card is reminding me to see my own future the way I want it to manifest.  It encourages me to daydream about the magick shoppe, about happy relationships, about financial well being, and success in all of its forms.  The more time I spend visualizing that, the closer it becomes to being reality.

Here’s what the guidebook says:

Card Meaning: Your clairvoyance, your dreams, and the pictures in your mind’s eye are becoming more clear and powerful. This card asks you to trust and to develop your visual skills, and to use them in conscious manifestation.

Card Description: The fairies know the power of conscious visualization as a tool of manifestation. By drawing this card, you are guided to sit quietly on a daily basis and to visualize yourself living a healthy, happy, abundant, and meaningful life. Visualize only what you desire, and avoid picturing that which you do not desire.

You have powerful visual skills, even if you’re unaware of them. Affirm daily, “I am a highly visual person.” Any blocks that you have about clairvoyance will begin to lift. Know that it is safe for you to see the future, the spirit world, and the truth about your life. By relasing any fears about “seeing,” your visualization powers will be greatly magnified.

Affirmation: It is safe for me to see. I am a very visual person.

Positive Expectations

Positive Expectations

I’ve noticed I’ve been having a “Ha!” or a “grunt” reaction to the fairies lately.  I shuffle, I cut, I flip, and when I see the card, I make a verbal sound.  They must be hard-hitting these days. *giggles*

Indeed, I understand exactly why I drew this card reversed this morning.  I’m just emerging from this mini-depression I was in (oh, Wendi, remember the Wheel of Fortune card from July??).

I had been all excited and anticipating a move, then I found out I’m stuck right where I am. I was just starting to get to a semi-secure place financially when I hurt myself and got set back ten paces by missing a week’s worth of work.  I was just getting comfortable with the T situation when life took over and kept us both busy and distant.  I was just getting comfortable with the healing my daughter and I were doing, then she started high school and ended up right back with the influences that sparked the trauma and drama of last year.  I was just getting nestled into my blog when I realized it can’t host Google Adsense, Amazon affiliations, or other code I was hoping to use to begin converting the blog to incorporate the beginnings of a store – and wondered if I need to scrap the whole thing and start over.  Everything I felt confident about suddenly slipped out of my reach and I spiraled into this dark pit of fear, insecurity, doubt, failure, and self-depreciating tendencies.  That’s why this card shows up reversed.

She makes me eat my own quote, “Believe good things; what you believe becomes.”

She reminds me not to lose hope, not to expect the worst – because if I do, that’s what I’ll create.  She encourages me to remain positive, to continue to dream, to hold onto faith because, as cliche’ as it sounds, this too shall pass.

Here’s what the book says:

Card Meaning: Keep up your hopes, dreams, affirmations, visualizations, and prayers, as they will be wonderfully manifested right now. Don’t quit five minutes before the miracle occurs!

Description: You’ve planted the seeds of manifestation with your positive thoughts and emotions. Yet, you may be discouraged occasionally because you aren’t seeing immediate results. You start to have pessimistic thoughts and wonder whether your faith is unjustified. Hold on to your faith, though! Although your manifestation is taking longer than you’d hoped, it is coming to you. You certainly don’t want to cancel or cloud your manifestation with miscreations that come from negative thoughts.

At your earliest convenience, go outside in nature — even a backyard or small park will do. Mentally converse with your friends, the fairies. They are absolute experts at manifestation! Tell them about your doubts, fears, and disappointments, as well as your hopes and dreams. Ask the fairies to help you release any negativity you may have, and feel them surround you with healing love and light.

Affirmation: I am safe, confident, and secure. I feel joyful about my future.

Making New Friends

Making New Friends

This card strikes me as odd for today.  I’ve never been one to have “friends” in the traditional sense.  Why? Quite honestly, it’s because I suck at being a friend.

I think too many people use the word “friend” too loosely.  There’s a difference between a “friend” and an acquaintance.  There’s a difference between a “friend” and someone online with whom you “connect”.  There’s a difference between “friend” and someone you get along with.  Friend has a much deeper meaning, an energy similar to “family”.

I’m not good at making phone calls, being available, “checking in”, I don’t go out, I don’t “do things”. I don’t go to movies, don’t “do lunch”, don’t go shopping.  My life is here, with my children, my dogs, at work, with T. Don’t get me wrong, there are people I appreciate.  There are my favorite co-workers that consider us “friends”, but it’s really much more like a wonderful acquaintance and a comfortable familiarity.  There are those people I”ve known for years – we speak every now and again, play catch up, have deep philosophical conversations — but the interaction is rare, the chats are few and far between, and the visits are nearly non existent.

I’ve also been burned badly enough in the past, and often enough, that I have a few trust issues. I won’t lie.

My first “best friend” of adult life made a bad, bad choice – one that had severe consequences that changed the course of her life, my life, and the lives of those we love. The loss of my son is connected to that event, and I’m not sure if I ever truly forgave her or myself for the situation that took place.

I had one friend in whom I confided everything – the good, bad, and the ugly. I shared my celebrations and my fears – as well as being available for her to share hers.  I made several road trips to visit her, several road trips with her to visit other places, and our kids enjoyed interacting with each other on those occasions.  Then one day, she read something in a blog that she completely misunderstood – and without even asking me what was meant by it, or asking the person who made the comment in the first place, she went on an all out attack and aired my private issues in a public forum to be read by all…. and she posted the tainted version with the intent to cause me harm.  That was the last “friend” I had — no thank you. And as for what I once considered my best and truest friend? All lies… it turns out I never really knew that person at all… and I won’t even go there. Yes, I have trust issues.

Also, when I saw this card this morning, my first reaction was to connect it to last night’s bizarre event… and I can’t really go into detail about that right now.

So, I’m perplexed by this card.  I don’t want to make friends, don’t want to be a friend (nevermind the irony of my own name!)…. I’m happy living my secluded life, sharing what resources and energy I have with my kids, my pets, and T.

And the card is inverted, which, in the fairy-realm, means the card is really demanding my attention. It’s an “urgency” when a fairy is reversed.

Here’s what the book says:

Card Meaning: Your circle of friends and acquaintances is shifting to a higher frequency. Old friends may part ways, and new people are entering your life.

Description: Your changing intersts and priorities have made a ripple effect throughout your entire life. As your thoughts and emotions center on more spiritually natured topics, you are now attracting like-minded people into your life. You may find that you aren’t as drawn to your old friends, or that you don’t share as many common interests.

The fairies ask you not to worry about these natural shifts in your life. You aren’t rejecting or judging your old friends. You’re just making room for growth, and acknowledging the Universal Law of Attraction: People who are like-minded are naturally drawn to one another. Know that you deserve wonderful friends who inspire, support, understand, and complement you.

Affirmation: I am grateful for my wonderfully supportive and loving friends.

Peace of Mind

Peace of Mind

Ya think?
Card Meaning: Make peacefulness your highest priority. Commit to taking steps to ensure peace of mind, and take those steps without delay.
Description: Peace of mind isn’t something you have to earn or acquire, since your true self is already peaceful. Instead, it requires being like a sculptor with a block of marble, who works with this material until the inner masterpiece is revealed. If you’ll make peace of mind your main focus, you’ll inevitably feel a great sense of relief.
Steps that create peace of mind include being honest with yourself, living according to your inner guidance, being helpful and kind to others, practicing meditation or yoga, eating only healthful foods, avoiding toxins, maintaining healthy sleep habits, avoiding negative people and media, surrendering your problems to God, communing with nature, simplifying your life, and saying no when you need to.
Affirmation: My mind is now peaceful, and I know that all of my needs are automatically taken care of. I can rest easily, assured that all is well.

Family Harmony

Family Harmony

I drew this card previously on June 23, 2008.

Well, isn’t she right on time?  Just yesterday I wrote a short post about how it was time to go get my daughter – and, at last, have my children home.  Rhythm left first – and before he returned, Stinkerbelle left.  Rhythm came home while Stinkerbelle was still away – and, as of yesterday at 10:45 a.m., we were all reunited.

We talked about the relief we feel in knowing our long term potential.  No longer focusing on a move, we’re now focused on how to turn our house into a home we can all be proud of and comfortable in.  We talked about the new school year starting and what the goals and intentions are socially and academically this year. We went to lunch together after leaving the airport – and, as we do when we three are turned loose in the world unchaperoned, we laughed ourselves to tears and drew attention to ourselves.  Nothing is more fun than an all out giggle fit in a public place with those you love most!

Ran a few errands after lunch, including a trip to a pawn shop to put a set of drums on layaway for Rhythm – a set of drums that matches the guitar T and I surprised him with Friday night.  On the way home from that errand, we talked about how to make Stinkerbelle’s dream of owning horses a reality.  We have the land for it… we just need to build fencing, a stable, and work out the vet/ferrier/feeding details.  I’m going to sell my mom the piece of property she’s on, and can use the funds from that to have things set up for Stinkerbelle’s horse.

When we got home, Stinkerbelle set to unpacking and cleaning her room, Rhythm spent some creative time bonding with his new guitar, and I took a much needed nap.  Though I’d had every intention of doing one more tarot reading yesterday afternoon via email, my personal energy was drained.  As much as I’ve hated postponing, I’ve made peace with myself in deciding I’d do that reading on Tuesday, my next day off.  After my nap, the kids and I found our comfy spots in the living room together and watched Enchanted, a movie with which I was completely tickled.  Loved it!

I also had a few issues regarding my mother yesterday.  There are advantages to having her as my neighbor, but there are times when certain lines are crossed – and I have to find a way to tell her that without upsetting her.  Before we’d even gotten back to Bowling Green from the airport in Nashville, my mother rang Stinkerbelle’s cell phone to ask if Stinkerbelle would go over to her house to color her hair as soon as we got home.  Stinkerbelle agreed and hung up, and I lost my temper.  I cried, really – not of sadness, but of anger and frustration.  I hadn’t seen my daughter in three weeks – she hasn’t even unpacked her clothes, and my mother had no idea whether or not I’d had anything planned – and without asking me first, she just assumed she could take my daughter.  We’ve had that discussion before.  Mom likes to take Stinkerbelle every Saturday to go run errands.  Mom doesn’t like to be alone.  But, Saturdays are the only day off I have of the weekend when there’s no school and I can spend the day with the kids.  I don’t want Stinkerbelle gone every Saturday.  I discussed it with my mom, she respected it for about two Saturdays, then everything went back to the way it was… plans were made without ever consulting me.  I’m going to have to put my foot down if I want to stabilize my own family.  My mom needs to understand that this is my daughter, not her best friend.

So, here’s what the guidebook says:

Card Meaning: Your relationships with family members are healing. As you hold loving thoughts and feelings about the souls involved (including yourself), you experience genuine harmony in your family.

Description: Every person in your life is affected by your beliefs and expectations, including your family members. By drawing this card, you are counseled to hold positive and loving thoughts about anyone who seems to have irritated or hurt you. The more loving energy you send to each person, the more love will be redirected back to you.

Have patience — you are beginning to feel a great healing occurring in your family relationships. The fairies ask you to think of three reasons why you are grateful for each member of your family. If one person seems to particularly frustrate you, think of five reasons why that person is worthy of love. Send blessings and prayers to that person, and your relationship will show immediate signs of improvement.

Affirmation: I see the goodness within each member of my family. My family life is harmonious and filled with love and joy.

Ha!

No really.  HA! HA! Hee! Hee!

What was my first line in the Tarot post? That I had to laugh at the truth of the situation.  What did I write about last night as what helped me through my own misery? T bringing me to hysterical laughter… a giggle fit that felt wonderful.  Indeed.

Laugh it off, girl. Laugh it off.

Someone I once thought I knew used to say, “If this situation wasn’t so tragic, it’d be funny!” – And that’s the reality of these two cards being drawn together.  It’s the epitomy of that phrase! Ha! Ha! Ha!

I’ve drawn her a few times, actually. Today, July 21, and June 11. I like the June 11th post because it tells the story of my first encounter with seeing a faerie… much in the same way I “heard” my faerie this morning. Here’s what I’d written:

“Laughter”

Laughter

This is the first fairy I ever “saw”. I’d had this deck for a short while and was living in Tulsa, Oklahoma. That’s where I really had the opportunity to get to know myself in new ways. I’d built what I called a Moon Circle in the back yard. It was a meditation spot I’d created using cut firewood that had been left there by the previous tenant, stones, and a tree stump in the center for sitting. I’d empowered the circle with my own concoction of salt, oils, potpourri, etc. and lined the circle with it. Well, one morning I’d gone out at sunrise to meditate and had taken my Fairy Oracle Cards with me. I sat on the tree-stump in the center of the circle, eyes closed, taking in slow, deep breaths. My concentration was broken by the sound of a giggle.

I thought a little kid had been peeking through the fence or something, so I opened my eyes and took a good look around, but as soon as I’d opened my eyes, the giggling stopped and all was quiet. There was no one at all in the area – and being that it was dawn, wasn’t likely there’d be children playing nearby. I closed my eyes again. Again, I heard the giggle, followed by a “shh… you’ll draw attention!” Then, the giggle was muffled. This time, though, along with the sound of the giggle, I had a “vision”. I saw this fairy card… animated. The red-headed fairy was standing on a tree limb just to the left of where I was sitting. She was looking right at me, giggling, with a sparkle in her eye. Next to her was an older, rounder, “grandmotherly” fairy (one not in my deck) who was trying to “hush” Laughter. They looked like cartoons.

In all the books I’ve read and studies I’ve done, it’s been made clear that to “see” a fairy is not done with the human eye as much as it is with the psychic eye, the third eye, or in “astral” form. I do believe that this encounter was my first TRUE experience with actually seeing a fairy, and she shows herself to me often. I’ve seen her again since that time, and so whenever I draw this card, I let out a little giggle – and it feels as though I’m seeing an old friend.

Her message is to enjoy the humor in life, and to laugh often. Laughter is said to be the best medicine. You can’t feel angry if you’re laughing. You can’t feel depressed if you’re laughing. Laughter heals… lighten up and give a giggle!

Let’s see what the guidebook says:

Card Meaning: Every cloud not only has a silver lining, but it also has a humorous side. Try to objectively stand back from your situations and find a humorous twist. Laughter will help you see your life from a new perspective so that you can receive creative insights and solutions.

Description: You are much too serious about life, according to the fairies. They aren’t asking you to neglect your responsibilities, let go of the sacred reverence for life, or defend your emotions with jokes. Instead, you’re asked to see the humor that runs through the thread of life. Like a brilliant comedy, our lives become more enjoyable when we can see them through the eyes of a humorist.

Laughter helps us to stand back and see ourselves and our situations more objectively. When we laugh, we relax. And when we relax, creative solutions and renewed energy course through us more easily. So, take time today to laugh. For instance, go see that new funny movie or play, buy a book by your favorite comedy writer, or exchange silly jokes with a friend.

Affirmation: I find the humor in life, and I laugh easily.

Inner Power

Inner Power

This made me smile… wide.  Isn’t she just radiantly beautiful? I love this card.  She gives me warm fuzzies and chilly willies all at once.

I’d mentioned recently that over the weekend, T helped me with a reading.  Since my return home, I’ve drawn some of the cards that surfaced in that reading, including the Seven of Swords and the Beauty Fairy Oracle.  Today’s fairy was also a part of that reading, and it encourages me to believe in and USE my own inner power to generate the desired changes and provide what I need. This is a card that makes me cry healing tears.  I needed this card today.  Not only is it perfectly synchronized with the Ace of Pentacles drawn this morning, but it also corresponds with my recent thoughts and ideas in regard to my goals, dreams and aspirations – providing what I can through tarot readings, preparing to move to a new house (which is still pending!), and considering the possibility of opening my own magick shoppe, not to mention the books I’d like to write.

Here’s what the guidebook says:

Card Meaning: You are now allowing yourself to experience and express your true power. The fairies ask you to affirm, “It is safe for me to be powerful!”

Definition: You have within you all of the power of the Universe. No one is more powerful than you. As a spiritually minded being, it’s impossible for you to misuse or abuse your power. Your guides will bring you opportunities to use and expand your power in ways that bring great blessings to you and the world.

Heaven needs the lightworkers of the world, including you, to realize and utilize their power. By drwing this card, you’re being asked to release any fears you may have about being powerful. You’re asked to keep your self-esteem high by honoring yourself, taking excellent care of your physical and emotional self, working on your dreams and aspirations, and spending time in prayer and meditation. The higher your level of self esteem, the more comfortable you will be with your power.

Affirmation: It is safe for me to be powerful! I have all the power of the Universe flowing through me and supporting me.

Well, if that’s not like a hammer to the head, I don’t know what is! *snort*

Yesterday, I drew the 7 of Swords.  When I did, I mentioned that I’d drawn it in a reading that T had helped me with over the weekend. 7 of Swords showed up in the higher power position, meaning that my strongest energies right now are coming from fear/anger that someone is taking something from me, or has taken something from me.  With it, I drew the Beauty fairy oracle… and that found me fighting tears.  I wrote it out in yesterday’s thoughts that I have lost my own sense of beauty and self worth based on past pains and failed relationships.  I felt I’d been robbed of my own worth.  And so today, following up that seven of swords drawn yesterday, Beauty makes yet another appearance to drive the message home.

Have I drawn her before? Not since I’ve been doing the Daily Dose here on this blog, I don’t believe – well, not that I could find, anyway, yet it seems to me I recall scoffing at this card once here before.  Here’s what she looks like:

Beauty

Beauty

Here’s what the guidebook says:

Card Meaning: Appreciate and amplify your natural attractiveness. Your beauty is most apparent when you’re happy and satisfied.

Description: We are all attractive in our own unique way. Part of self-esteem is appreciating how wonderful you truly are. Never, ever put yourself down in any way! Always think self-loving thoughts about your body, your face, your hair, your weight, and every inch of your physical self.

Tell yourself positive affirmations daily, such as, “My inner light radiates through every pore and cell of my body, and everyone is attracted to my inner and outer beauty.” Invest time and money in services that make you feel wonderful, such as massages, facials, manicures and pedicures, soaking in a tub, or getting a new hairstyle. Spend time in meaningful ways that make you feel joyous, and you will glow with the attractiveness of a truly happy person.

Affirmation: My inner and outer selves are radiantly attractive right now. I love my beautiful self.
