This weekend, although we did go to T’s sister’s and his mothers, we weren’t able to go out on the 4-wheeler again into the woods for tree-spirit photos. However, I did have an opportunity to visit an extremely enchanted tree. This was such an incredible experience – I’ve never seen anything like it, and yes… although my digital camera was absent of batteries, my iphone did a fine job of capturing the magick to be shared.
Hundreds of years old, this tree was larger than life. It was inside of a park area and although I had no idea what we were turning in there for (other than, “Oh, you wanna see a tree?”), I spotted it as soon as the truck went through the gate. I couldn’t wait to get out for a hands-on experience with this magnificent wonder… and though I was able to catch a few precious snapshots, this tree holds many more mysteries than I was able to capture in a short visit. As quickly as I could, I made my way from truck to tree, slipped out of my flip flops, walked around the perimeter taking a few photos, then climbed on. If ever I get the chance, I’m going back… at a time when Rhythm can share the wonder, and will do a better job with photographs. This was definitely one of the highlights of my trip! All of these photos are from this one enchanted tree.
This is the first “face” T pointed out to me in this tree… it’s on the side of the tree you first see when approaching from the parking lot.
He described it as a dragon’s face, pointing out its two eyes, its nostrils, and its “snarl”.
It impresses me more than I can say that I’ve found someone who can “see” the same things I see in nature. I’m used to trying to explain or justify myself (silly girl!), trying to get others to understand that there’s more to life than meets the eye… and now I’m experiencing this part of my life with someone who understands because he can see the same things I do, and I’m deeply touched that he had the insight and the desire to introduce me to this tree and its many faces.
I really wish Rhythm could have shared this with us… although I’m sure he’ll delight in the photographs. He’s got a special affinity for dragons, and I think this face in this tree would have been quite the thrill for him. That’s okay, though… there will be a next time.
I’m sure the picture would have been lots better if I’d have had a digital camera, but the iphone didn’t do a bad job at all… I’m calling this picture, “Dragon Magick”.
This is a neat one here, very distinct and emerging from the tree. The wood on this part was a lighter shade of brown, which really made the face stand out even more… and rather than being set in the trunk itself, this one is sort of protruding so it had a “coming at ya” appeal.
This reminds me of a dinosaur head… a vegetarian dinosaur.
He’s got a pensive look in his eye, almost as if he were questioning, “Friend or Foe?”.
Friend, of course.
Because of his supposed vegetarian status, I’m calling him “Herb”.
This next one is a turtle.
This one’s what I call a “threefer” – three faces for one photograph. The most obvious, at least to me, is what looks like an alligator with its jaws open wide and preparing to clamp down. Just above the gator face, though, I can see the shape of a snake, and below the snake, a fish… it’s like this was the aquatic portion of the tree…
Then, if you look in the upper left corner of this image, there’s another face… that of an old man.
Actually, the more I look at this shot, the more I see…
Last but not least, here’s a shot T took of Stinkerbelle (left, standing)
and me (baseball cap and barefoot comfort!) bonding with this tree’s energy.

Wow…this tree is awesome! I saw so many different things in the pictures. One, I saw a fairy sitting kind of bent over, another an eagle’s beak. I see a frog with one hind leg and an owl in another pic. I would love to see this tree in person as you have done. Thank you for sharing.

Beautiful! In Treefer, behind the alligator, I see a ram’s head. Long snout moving up into curled horns. Amazing that all these spririts live in one tree.
I know exactly what you mean about being with someone who ’sees’ what you see. It is so refreshing and gratifying. The Urbane Lion instantly saw my water rock spirits, but it moves way beyond that. We both see the world for all its positive potential.
He bought me a ring yesterday on our trip. To us, it looks like two sets of arms stretching out to greet the world, with a figure 8 loop bonding the two people together. The ring is called Creativity. In the Lion, I have found someone who approaches life in the spirit of creativity. Sounds like you have found someone similar.
this is interesting, the photos very much so
My kids and I enjoyed looking at your tree pictures…they totally stopped what they were doing to look.

Isn’t it amazing? I had no idea this tree even existed or that we’d been so close to it. I was absolutely delighted when T turned his truck into the park to share these treasures. I can’t even begin to describe the feeling of climbing up the trunk of this wonder, lying back, and just “being one” with the moment.
Thanks for dropping by and sharing your comments.

I thought of you and your rock faces while I was taking these pictures, actually! *big smiles* – I had a feeling you’d appreciate the snapshots once I’d gotten them posted. And you’re right… it’s mind-blowing the spirits in this tree.
Synchronicity? I came home with a new ring, too – it matches a necklace that was a gift about a month ago. Black Onyx, something I’d mentioned I wanted for protection when doing Tarot readings. The necklace came first. T’s comment about the necklace was, “It looks like Onyx Eyes…”, which I referenced in my graTeful poem (but likely only he understood). The ring he found this weekend is an exact match… same design with little silver flowers and “feathers” around the stone.
Yes… it’s good to share parts of your life and parts of your being with someone who views life in similar ways.
Thanks for connecting.

Glad you enjoyed the photos. I’m not a photographer by any means, especially not equipped only with an iphone camera, but I do delight in capturing life’s magickal moments… and this “tree” was definitely part of life’s magick.
Thanks for sharing the moment.

Awww, spatulahandle, that touched me! Warm fuzzies and all! Thanks for sharing the pics with your little’ns. I’m glad they enjoyed them!

I am so glad that T showed you two the tree! I have shared the magic of that same tree with my two kids one summer here with my mother when they were younger.
I always look longingly as I drive by it and intend to stop again to renew the magic and wellness I feel when I visit there. Had a great time with y’all and hope to connect again real soon. Till then, good fairy wishes and comfort to you both!
Luv,

Well, hello, Sunshine! *big smiles*
Spent part of the morning watching Dharma and Greg, which, of course, had me thinking of you and the roads you’re traveling. (Ha! Dharma found an old notebook that belonged to Greg’s mother… in which she’d written erotica!)Then low and behold, here you are sharing bright rays of Sunshine.
What a tree, huh? I can’t wait to go back and climb all over it again, maybe when there’s a bit more time to just “hang around” and enjoy all the magick that tree has to offer. It truly is a remarkable energy – and I just know my son will dig it to no end!
Such a joy to see you here.
Take care and be well!
Bright Blessings,
W
Sounds like you must take heed with the critter warnings. (lol) Just like T to simplify things and make you feel silly all the while, but in a good way. He has that calming effect on the world I think. He is definatley in the good graces of the earth and sky…..but I must not ramble so.
Wishing you and Stinkerbelle warm fuzzies and peaceful thoughts!

Yeah… the animals rarely steer me wrong, although my son is encouraging me to look a little deeper for the other messages these animals might bring. Nonetheless, I’m keeping aware. I’ve learned the hard way that danger can be much closer than we think.
And yeah, T has a wonderful way of making me laugh at myself. *LOL*
Ramble away… I enjoy your company here and it’s always a pleasure to see you.
Bright Blessings,
W
It makes my whole day when I pass a tree and see a cute smiling face with his (or her) hand uprised as if waving to me to say “HI” from the surface of a tree!!! I just have to stop and take a photo of the spirit. The babies that I see are adorable spirits- I feel as if I should bring the baby spirits a bottle of baby formula for them to drink. That would be too nuts for me to do–just kidding about that. I can’t seem to stop taking photos of these amazing things.
It is amazing how many spirits that I can find in just one photo. I can see a face with a Mexican Sambrero on his head in the photo of the alligator. This face has a “hand” held up to his cheek, and he has an open mouth-either a look of horror or surprise. I can see figures of people in the snake’s mouth, and also lying on the side of the “sambrero” as well as other places in the photo.
Thanks for sending in all of these photos. I have loads of photos of tree spirits, but nothing as strange as these photos.
My oh my, I have to say that these picures have touched me deeply, literally to the point of tears. Such a blessing to see so many spirits and beauty. Gaia always shows us she is still her, if we just look and see.
